When you turn on the set, there are 5 or 6, blue/green/red lines in the middle of a black screen. Then after 3 or 4 second the picture comes on, but at the top of the screen there is a 2 or 3 inch horizontal black line across the screen. The picture has some lines across the top third with the bottom part of the picture looking O.K. After the tv has been on for 10 seconds, it shuts off automatically. However, the green power light on the front of the set stays on until you physically turn it off.

The tv is 2.5 years old. Any ideas what the problem is and if it's worth fixing?
