Brother VS Bernina

I'm shopping for an embroidery machine. The Bernina dealer offered me the newest machine for $6,900. The Brother dealer offered me their newest machine for $4900.

Please give advice as to the stitch quality, durability, etc. on either machine if you have one.

You'd be much better off with an embroidery only machine. The very good Janome 350E is around $1300 and stitches beautfully. It doesn't require any expensive software and is wonderfully user-friendly.
