Floors brand?

Can you tell me the brand and specific vendor name for the white oak floor, perhaps even a website/store that i can order from. I am having a difficult time sourcing something that looks as good as this. Thanks and nice work!

Can you tell me is rift-sawn more expensive? What is the difference between a normal oak floor and a rift sawn floor?

Yes it is more expensive. Its more costly to produce. The benefits are a dimensionally more stable floor and incredible beauty. Rift & Quartered floors were commonplace before HVAC due to their resistance to warping and cupping.

We are doing a major renovation to our beach house in New Jersey. We are 4 houses from the beach. I love the wide plank floors, but I'm concerned about cupping. Do you feel it would be a problem?

Not if you do engineered and keep it at 5" or below. Some people would say you could go wider but I wouldnt. I would be happy to give you a quote. Just let me know :-)

    Why can't I go wider....like 7''?

atmcc - I just spoke with my technical guys about this. They said our engineered would handle this environment fine all the way up to an 8". I just like being careful. Let me know if you would like a quote :-) joel@eutree.com
