I have 3 granddaughters with 2 more on the way and have recently begun sewing again after a long hiatus.. having fun sewing for grandchildren! I have an outdated Bernina sewing machine.. 180... that I haven't learned to use to do anything except sew, but it has some embroidery features. I'd like a stand alone embroidery machine so I can sew while embroidering and am very confused. I use a MacBook Pro computer and wonder if that is an issue with downloading designs. I've looked at the Bernina Deco 340 ~$1350. Keep reading about the Janome machines. What features should I be looking for when I go see machines and what machines do you recommend?
