kodak c613 'no power'

any one out there have experience with a digital camera........as mine all of a sudden wont power on ...........used fresh batt.but lasted only one day...now its stuck open.......i admit i only used aa batteries and not the rechargeable ones...any help would be appreciated.......

AA batteries are OK as long as they're alkaline
