Those are good receivers. But you would have paid for extra amplifiers and surround processors you wouldn't use.

Sonically, you would be better off buying Yamaha's or someone else's good 2 channel receiver.

I'd look for a Yamaha RX595 or a Denon DRA675.

Thanks for the information. I didn't realize that a lower priced 2 channel receiver from Yamaha would sound better than their $900 fancy multifunction one.

For a bedroom unit wouldn't you be better off buying a new Yamaha or Onkyo receiver that is entry level but still of good quality for your purpose?
