Columbia Wood Products (a large hardwood plywood manufacturer in the USA) now makes formaldehyde free plywood and particle board. The product is called PureBond. They have the license to this technology and so other plywood manufacturers may also be using it if they pay Columbia the fees. The idea for the "new" glue came from clams or mussels.

Buy plywood from third world nations (including China) at your own risk. Profit in these unregulated economies is more important than safety.
