Look in a marine supply catalog for small boats such as E & B Marine or Boat U.S. There are a number of relatively inexpensive solar panels that are used on sailboats or small boats tied in marinas to keep the batteries charged when the boat is left unattended.

Those batteries don't use much energy to charge so I just use a standard charger.

Harbor Freight has solar battery chargers, I don't know if they are specific for NiMH or not. They also have the chargers that plug into your car's cigarette lighter to recharge the battery if you have a continuous battery leakage problem.
