Where am I supposed to shop? ... ForEver 21?

All kidding aside, I didn't know those stores were in trouble.

The Talbot's closest to me closed unexpectedly about a year ago. It's been a huge pain because I shopped there more than anywhere. We still have one in the mall and in another town about 12 miles away. That is too far to just run in to use a coupon. I have a coupon right now for 40% off one item, good only on Sunday. I may drive to the mall to use it, but $5 in savings will be burned up in gas.

I think there quality is dropping, too. I bought some t-shirts there and the fabric is so much thinner than before. Still, their curvy style pants fit me so well.

I'm not surprised Talbots is closing stores. I used to buy a lot more there but the style and quality of their clothing has really tanked IMHO. I've sent them feedback several times that hasn't even been acknowledged. When you don't listen to your good customers your business typically doesn't do well. Such a simple concept that so many seem to ignore.

The Talbots stores in my area seem to be doing well. I wear petite sizes too. Last week I purchased four 3/4 length sleeve tops there. Bought the "pansy" tee, the "cherry blossom" tee, a paisley top and a solid tee with pintucking in a gorgeous shade of purple!

For over a decade I've relied on Talbots for my petite winter turtlenecks and spring and summer tees. They make ALL their styles in petite sizes, which is nice. Never had much luck with their pants, though. Have found well-fitting skirts when I needed them there.

Where else to shop? Nordstrom has some nice petite selections, but not a huge array of them. Eddie Bauer is an option for casual clothes, as is Jjill. If you have a Dillards in your area, they sometimes have good things. Bought a dress there recently and can always find my petite Levis there.

You can also shop Talbots through their 1-800-TALBOTS number!

I was in the Garden City store (RI) on Thursday to an
on line purchase and was lucky to find a pair of
pants that were full price @ $109 so I was able to use my
40% off coupon. It is one of my go to stores since the
"Heritage Fit" in pants fit my figure. The quality of their
clothing has definitely deteriorated compared to years past.
