Yes, we've used wire from Warming Systems on our master bath and kitchen, and have the wire in a box to add it to our breakfast nook and sunroom soon.

It's easy to put down: just tape it to the floor with aluminum tape. The kitchen took me 4 hours total. It's easy to cover whatever floor shape you need without cutting/turning the mats. You still have to plan the layout...minimize changes in direction for ease of thinset application. You need to make sure to keep the lines 3" apart (the mats do that for you) so the floor is evenly warm. And it takes a little more care when trowling the thinset over it so you don't snag them.

But they've worked great for us (on our second season of using them) and I loved paying

I'm going to try the wire. It's so much cheaper and seems easier than working with the mesh.

Good luck! One last piece of advice: Make sure you run the wire into the toe kick area...and everywhere else your toes might touch.
