Wall Issues

In our 3rd floor bedroom (typical attic style slanted ceilings) we have a short wall under one of the slanted ceilings that is behind a built in dresser and built in desk (spans the whole wall). The wall used to be all cork, that is until I ripped it off. I didn't take it off because I hated it, I took it off because it was in bad shape. While in the process of taking it off, I also did a decent amount of damage to the drywall. I'm not necessarily interested in replacing the drywall just yet. I did kind of like the cork, so I'm thinking of putting new cork up, but I'm looking for a few other options. What else can I do with a wall that's kind of trashed, but still standing?
