ceramic tile kitchen problem

I am completely renovating a kitchen. Upon removing the cabinets, I found that they were mounted directly to the subfloor, and 4 layers of flooring have been applied elsewhere in the kitchen. Top layer a paper thin vinyl that I was able to rip right out. 2nd layer, a thin plywood with a tile veneer, also easy to rip out (though it left behind thousands of staples). Then 2 layers of very old linoleum that are nearly impossible to remove. Upon scraping out some of the old linoleum...it appeared that the the bottom layer as well as the mastic may possibly be asbestos.

I prefer to stay as ignorant as possible, but treat it as if its asbestos. I want to either remove the entire subfloor with the linoleum on top, and start from scratch with a new subfloor. OR use a leveling compound of some sort to create a flat surface, entomb what may be asbestos in there, and tile on top.

Does anybody have any recommendations? Best kind of leveling compound? etc?
