Restoration Hardware vs. Century Help me Choose

I have narrowed down or living room search to the following two choices:

Restoration Hardware Lancaster - Down Filled, Luxe, 96" + Down Filled Lancaster Recliner.

Century Rounded Sectional with Chenille Fabric. Down cushions with a memory foam core.

I have 3 kids and a cat. They take up the same amount of space and are both priced at about $6,000.

I am worried that the restoration hardware couch will lose its appeal and become ragged quicker. On the century couch I am worried it is slightly less comfortable and may stain quicker.
Any help!

The Century sofa is going to be much, much higher quality piece than you'd buy at RH. Can you choose another fabric? Century still makes a quality product that would be worth recovering in a decade. RH is disposable, despite the price.

I can't choose another fabric. Its a sale item and the price and color is set. $6,000 for a sectional sounds pretty good. What is the concern on the fabric?

Go with the one that is all wood...Century may be veneer over particle board...look at the drawers...look for dovetailed drawers...look at the raw parts of the furniture....Is it real wood? I think Restoration Hardware carries all wood furniture...It would be my choice

Whoops...just noticed this is a sectional. The fabric is what you want...I personally have always chosen other brands over Century...so, it would not be my choice...There are so many good companies out there...have you considered anyone else but these two? I seldom buy retail...I belong to a buying club and get at least 50% off manufacture's price....I also have furniture made...I would never give $6,000.00 for a couch in the present retail market...Shop around. I'm sure you can find a better deal...

Just two comments:

- Try out the RH piece. They are very, very deep. I would think it would be uncomfortable to sit up in them and have your feet on the floor.

- Chenille is a fabric that will not tolerate any contact with water. It will alter the color the fabric by changing the way light reflects off it. From one angle, it will appear lighter, from 90 degrees off, it will look OK and from 180 degrees off, it will appear darker. This can happen with either spilled water (or urine, or water-based liquids) or if it ever needs to be water-cleaned.
