Retro Ve

I have been looking for a bedroom set for months. While I prefer mix and match, I just do not have the time now to shop to find pieces that will work together. I had my eye on Thomasville's Retro Ve for some time, but kept hesitating. I like the style, but was not sure about the overall quality (I have champagne taste and beer pocket).

I was impressed with Nichols and Stone for their craftsmenship and would like to support a small family owned company rather than mass produced furniture, but I couldn't find a style that I really loved in their line. Then I discovered Maria Yee who designs contemporary furniture and uses traditional Chinese joinery techniques. I don't have deep pockets and what I would pay for an entire mid range bedroom set I would pay for one of her beds.

Wouldn't you know it, while I was trying to decide how I could afford to put a Maria Yee set together, the sales person from Thomasville called to tell me Retro Ve was being discontinued and was on sale.

Well, I really needed a bedroom set for my almost empty bedroom, so I got practical very quickly. I was able to get the Retro Ve bed, dresser and mirror, night stand and armoire for just under $3,000 delivered. Given the price, the number of pieces and overall quality, I think I got a good deal. I'd like to know what others think about Thomasville quality and if I got a good deal.
