Wall covering for garage

I have a 24x24 attached garage with a plastered ceiling and would like to cover the walls. Currently they are insulated with bare 2x4 studs. I would like to do something other than plaster or drywall. I'm thinking about some type of wafer board etc. It needs to be light in color and practical. I'll probably have to install a 4" baseboard at the bottom due to the heighth. Actually a notty pine look would be great. All suggestions would be appreciated. Thank You.

I am going to use OSB on the interior walls of my new detached garage/work shop. I will paint the wall a light color. If I do not paint them straight away they will never be painted.

My garage that is attached to our house has drywall, I kind of like it. However the OSB makes great shear walls, so that's my choice.

I was thinking of something like OSB. What's do you mean by shear wall? I like OSB because it's easy to install, relatively inexpensive, durable, and stronger than drywall. What thickness were you thinking about?
