You must have sensors and they must be working for this opener to operate. Make sure the sensors are connected correctly. Did you get the owners manual? I think you will find the bulb flashes 10 times when the door reverses.

Check for 5vdc between terminals 2 and 3 on the rear of the motor unit. If there is no voltage or if it is greater than 6vdc the logic board is bad.

Can I bypass those sensors? There are no children around.

There is no way to bypass the sensors. With 6.54 volts I have to think the logic board is bad. You need to try to get your money back. If you bought a logic board you will have as much in that opener as a new one costs.
