Limestone Kitchen Floor Care...

I saw a gorgeous Pomignon limestone floor in Ann Saks I fell in love with. I took a sample home and dropped a bit of wine on it, and it wasn't so lovely after. It didn't really stain but it etched it noticably. Are there any methods to buff out those spots or disguise them one can do at home? ANY sealer that would protect aginst etching? I was wondering if a wax like Briwax would protect the floor as anything would bead up on it. It's only a small area, but I do cook with vinegar, wine and lemons, and I hate to be constantly vigilant. Any thoughts?
