sears garage door opener model 139.655000

I am having a problem insofar as the garage door does not close all the way. I know there is an adjustment screw somewhere but I don't know where. Help

If you remove the cover from the motor housing you will see 2 nylon nuts that travel on a threaded rod when the motor is running. These nuts contact a micro switch at each end to shut off the motor. To adjust the travel unplug the unit and loosen the screw holding the bracket that keeps the nuts from rotating. Now you can adjust the nut that controls the closing limit. Be sure to put the bracket back where it was and tighten the nut. Your opener is very old and is not safe. I would highly recommend a new state of the art opener.
