I'm not a guy, but I like the Sears Gladiator Garage storage.

However, in my own garage, I have a Sears toolbox on wheels and IKEA cabinets on the walls with frosted glass doors ($50 each). I'm going to add some more cabinets once I get some projects done out there.

Costco have the cheapest mechanic/automotive type - tool chests I've seen, and I've looked around. You won't get much change out of a thousand dollars, but they are niiiiice to have.
