My family room is built over a vented crawlspace with concrete block walls and concrete floor, heating and electrical running through the crawlspace, insulation on top (underside of the FR floor). The family room has a plywood subfloor, and possibly another plywood subfloor over that, if what we found in the kitchen is any indication.

I would like to replace the carpet with hardwood. Any advice or recommendations appreciated, before I call the flooring contractor. I have white oak throughout the house, installed in the kitchen 5 years ago.
