Pat Benatar @ Walker, MN....

UFFDA....

Can't BELIEVE DD & I drove 250-miles RT this evening to see Pat Benatar @ Moondance-Jam in Walker, MN!?!??!

TOTAL spur-of-the-moment thing when I got home from work!

DD & DW had been cookin' this up during the day, and I found out when I got home @ 5:30pm.

Sooooo...@ 6pm, we DD & I blasted out of Fargo towards MN lakes country. Got to the concert site ~ 8:10pm. PB was scheduled @ 9pm.

$190 later (again...for 2!!), we were standing 50ft. from Pat!!

Pretty big outdoor festival there! I wanted to stay 'til 11pm when REO-Speedwagon started, but it would've been gettin' pretty late to drive 125 miles back home!!!

Ah welll....it was fun...gotta do somethin' crazy once in a while?!!?

Very cool! Some of my most memorable adventures have been short-notice, spontaneous outings.

That's great! What a cool Dad you must be - to drive 250 miles on the spur of the moment to do something fun with your DD. Tell us - what shoes did your DD, with her exquisite taste, wear?

    Rock on, Faron.

    Man, you're a DOG!
I'd love to see Pat again!

I love your broad taste in music. What a Dad you are!!

Yeah, what shoes did she wear, Dad? It being an outdoor festival, I'll bet she didn't wear her fancy ones...

    That is awesome, love PB!

    Yeah....outdoor festival=pea-gravel=beer cans/cups all over the place....people "groovin'-in-place", etc.

...all adds up to "not a snowballs' chance in h#ll" of wearing anything but plain ol' tennies!

Pat's pretty cool! She stated she's 57, and still beltin' out the tunes! It was very fun. Just wish she would've played longer than 1hr&10min.

As I type now...Cinderella is on stage (7pm CST), with Leonard Skynyrd goin' on @ 11pm. I SERIOUSLY considered goin' back for these 2 bands!!!

You totally rock, dude. Back home in Montana, we told NoDak jokes when I was a kid.

Well, I guess she could be 57! My first date with DH was a Pat Benatar concert. It was an outdoor concert at Blossom Music Center outside of Cleveland Ohio. September 1, 1981! I remember that because for one of our anniversaries he bought me a little heart charm with the embossed "Happy Anniversary" with 9-1-81 engraved on the back!

I was 20, so Pat was probably 26 or 27 back then! I had my hair cut like her's - short on the sides, long in the back! Mullet style I guess ;-)!!

PB did have some cute haircuts...I kinda had a "crush" on her in the 80's!
    Then along came Vixen....Uffda!!!

PB pointed out b4 one song that they had the SECOND video on MTV....way back on Aug 1st, 1981!! Her (now) husband, guitarist Neil Geraldo, therefore had the first HUMAN guitar solo on MTV!
An "Odd", but kinda cool factoid from "back in the day"!

Yes, crazy, spur of the moment events are the best.

I just went the other weekend in TN to see Pat Benatar & reo. We had a blast. We had a table & it was so much fun. We were able to bring coolers with alcoholic beverages & there was a tent (air conditioned, thank goodness) that had a bar & buffet for people that have a table. I'm spoiled now.

I danced my arse off to "Love is a Battlefield" - that was the video on Mtv & I thought she was the BEST! I thought she looked great, too. Enjoyed singing along with Reo.

In August we are going to hear Blondie & Cheap Trick. Can't wait to see Debra Harry - she is a cool woman rocker, too. I'll get to see my bartender that told me "I was a weapon of marriage destruction!" Ha ha....got my little middle aged ego stroked for the nite. LOL But bartenders do make good friends:)

We are doing these concerts as a "girls nite out" - getting a designated driver & partying like we were in college again!!

    Smiles:)

Blondie is my all time fave! I have everything she put out, in vinyl, cassette & CD. I still have a lot of the original stuff from the 70's; including my concert shirts; their last "official tour" as a band (before breaking up) was The Hunter, which I also went to.

Just went to Blondie's site; wow on the concerts! She's with Cheap Trick, B52's; The Pretenders and alone. I'd love to see her with the B 52's or Pretenders. I like Cheap Trick too but the other 2 would be my choice. She's in Atlantic City September 11 alone. I'd love to go & wear my shirts from the old days!

Has anyone seen her yet? How is her voice?
