Window treatments

I am at a loss, In my great room, I have a 12' arcadia window/door that needs some pizazz. I feel it is too large a window to have drapes that would close the entire window area, because it would leave too much bulk on the sides when pulled back. Is it OK to just have 1 set of panels to "frame" the window on each side? The existing blinds that came with the house when we bought it are an ugly sea foam color, we have them tied back non-stop since it is such a great view.

Also in my great room, I have two long windows on either side of my front door and a bay window that I would like to have coordinated.

Help anyone? I am clueless as how to proceed.

It seems, the sliding doors do not have enough room on each side for single panel drapes. Since you have a great view, maybe you do not need window treatments there? Is sun control or privacy an issue? Hunter Douglas and others have come out with updated vertical blinds. (photo)

I would not bother to have the windows on either side of door covered. The beautiful bay windows would be nice with many choices of window treatments (& you can coordinate the door windows if you want them covered, too). My favorite choices would be: without any covering (I really like the window seat), (photo), or plantation shutters (photo), or grass shades (photo)

I'd go with silk shears that stack on either side with a chrome hold back hooks and a chromed steel curtain rod. The thinness of the fabric and the lighter look of the chrome will not over power a tight space as exist around this door. This same material can be carried to the bay as well.
