Posting a pic of our new floors, since it was extremely helpful for me to surf the garden web forum looking for ideas. These are 5" site finished white oak, select grade, with DuraSeal chestnut stain. Posted pic with Espresso cabinets (they look black from distance) shown. It was a 4 coat finish, with 1 coat of stain and 3 coats of Carver water based satin poly. The color in the pic is pretty true. I'll say that when we sampled stains on the floor (chestnut, medium brown, and special walnut), it appeared darker, which actually worried us some, but it came out beautiful. Chestnut is really a rich and warm color and we are excited about the result.
