Removing Porcelain Tile

We bought a 1928 Tudor house. Nice oak flooring throughout except the kitchen. The previous owner has installed 1/4 inch thick porcelain tile.

How difficult would it be to remove the tile and have the original floor refinished.
There's a little oak threshold in the doorway, I removed it, for a look, and the adhesive is soft and glue like. Does thinset remain flexible?
