A knitting friend informed me of a cute knitted baby bootie pattern made with Berroco Suede yarn. The pattern site even has a short video of how to knit the instep.

Very cute. I found it informative because I don't have any family members, etc. who knit, so I have to answer my own questions by looking in books, so this was very nice for me. Hope it helps someone else also.
