It's great for knitting socks. They are so warm and I like that they are machine washable.

This yarn is great for just about any DK/sport/worsted pattern. Works up with great body and minimal shrinkage when washed/dried. I've found that many of the higher end, designer yarns simply don't have any shape or body when worked up. The other reliable yarn I've found is Paton's wool.

WoolEase is nice... very sturdy - great price (especially on sale) - great color choices - soft - and of course... the washability.

I used it for my first ever pair of socks, which I made as a gift for my dad. They were a tweedy blue denim with red (with multi flecks) cuffs and heels. Years later (after heavy use) I had to darn the heels, but otherwise they still looked nice. He wears them around the house - not in shoes - which contributes to their longevity. I gave him another pair for his birthday this year, this time an oatmeal tweed sock with double stranded heel and cuff - one strand of the tweedy yarn and one strand of black. I'm saving a bit of the leftover yarn for the inevitable darning!
