In the book Knitted Toys by Fiona McTague there is a great tropical fish pattern (you can felt any pattern just make it bigger or use bigger yarn first and experiment). There is also a turtle pattern in it as well.

I like to buy books and such but also love the free sites. Do a google search for toys knit pattern etc....
