Please pray for me

I had my 3 month CT scan this morning. About an hour later after getting home I saw that I had a message on my old cell phone (which I am going to cancel very soon). My chemo doctor's office had called and wanted me to call them immediately. I did and I was told that something has shown up on the scan and my doctor wanted me in there today to see a PA. The nurse asked me if I had abdominal pain which I did last night but the pain had subsided within an hour. I thought I had pain due to a small bit of very spicy sauce I had had at work yesterday. Or something like that.

Anyway, I assume that I will be sent in for more tests of some sort. I pray that the cancer has not spread to my liver. Just 3 weeks ago I had had the series of blood tests and my liver numbers had remained low, that is good. No cancer markers showing up. So I will be there at the chemo doctor at 3pm AZ time (same as CA time right now). Please give a strong shout out to the Lord for me, please.

I will let you know what is said. I have the blood tests scheduled for tomorrow, a regular chemo doc visit for Thursday, Mayo financial on Friday and a colonoscopy for Monday the 31st. I just hope that I can be saved. I don't want to die just yet, you know? Please pray that it is nothing that cannot be cured.

Love to you all Eileen in AZ

Well, thank you all so very much!!!!!

Good and bad news - it is NOT cancer. Bad news - possible appendicitis, meaning surgery soon. First, Mayo will be trying to get my insurance to approve visit, then we shall see. If I do get bad pain, vomiting, fever, etc. before we schedule a doctor's appt. I have to go to ER right away. Who would have thought of this? God, of course. Anyway, I still need the prayers but at least it's a curable thing.

    Love you!!!!

Oh, I've been away for several hours and this is not what I had hoped to come 'home' to! I am so sorry BUT let's put on our amour and prepare for whatever is coming your way. Hopefully it's nothing big but please let us know!

Praying and sending good thoughts your way. A big hug too!

Well if appendicitis could ever be considered good news, I'd say it is in your situation!

Hope it's something they can control with some antibiotics so you don't have to have surgery. Keep us posted!!

Oh, I am so, so, SO glad it isn't cancer, esp. liver cancer. Every single person I know who had appendicitis healed within weeks. The only person I know with liver cancer died within months.

Woo hooo!! Now I am crossing my fingers about your ins.!

Well I'm so glad it is not cancer! I read your post earlier and was so heart sick for you I had to think about the right words to say to you. Meanwhile praying for you. Then I see that it's not cancer, HALELUIA! I am so sorry it is your appendix and will continue to pray that you get the treatment you need and deserve. Your perseverance is an inspiration to us all!

So glad to hear it's definitely not cancer. Maybe it's not appendix either? Here's hoping it was just the sauce. Please take care and keep us updated - I'll be thinking +++++ thoughts for you.

Thank goodness! I'm surprised they didn't take your appendix when they did your surgery! I know you are not looking forward to more surgery - but hopefully they could do laprascopic. So thankful it is not cancer. My prayers go out for you Eileen. Please keep us posted.

Eileen, It could be so much worse, glad it's only appendix, that's so repairable. Thank Heavens! Think of you often and always wonder how you're doing! Susan

OMGosh! I didn't even get to light a candle for you yet, but, I still will that you will make a full recovery!

Eileen, I had to smile when you said appendix!
I have been the cancer route and now when I have bad
aches or pains..I say a little prayer that goes something
like this.."oh Lord, please let it be my appendix, tonsils
or something I don't really need".
He has sent you something good to make the "other" take
    a long rest!
This will be a walk in the park.
    Prayers and thoughts.

I'm just now seeing this thread, Eileen. How frightening for you! Although a possible appendicitis is not fun, like everyone else here, I'm incredibly happy that your cancer hasn't returned. I'll continue to keep you in my prayers.

Hy heart went into my throat when I first started reading this thread. This is one of those rare times when appendicitis is good news. Sending good thoughts your way.

More good thoughts your way. I agree with Graywings, my heart went into my throat too. Thank goodness it is not cancer. Keep your chin up girl.

My thoughts and prayers are with you too.

I'm so thankful too that it's not anything super-serious. Wishing you all the best as you deal with the potential appendix issue. (((((Hugs)))))

    Thank you, thank you!!!!!!

I was reading my old Merck Manual last night about appendicitis. Less than 50% of people have the typical symptoms, pain on lower left abdomen, fever, nausea, vomiting, etc. I have no pain or any of the other stuff. Plus on a CT scan you really cannot tell early appendicitis but since this scan was compared to one from 3 months ago the appendix has changed in size. You know, I forgot that about 3 weeks ago I may have had a UTI but I never bothered the doctor with that and that pain went away. Maybe the appendix had jumped in there to help fight some infection and so became inflamed itself. Who knows? The Merck Manual says that perhaps 15% of people who have appendix removed don't even have a bad appendix. Sometimes the pain is from something else. But, from what I understand, the standard treatment today is to laprascopically (sp?)remove the appendix because of the serious danger of rupture. Rupture can kill you. So now I am on 2 antibiotics to lower the inflammation, etc. until I can get the poor baby removed.

Thanks for the prayers. See, God has been watching out for me. Thanks to you all for keeping me in your thoughts.

    Love from Phoenix.

    Eileen

Gosh, Eileen, I just saw this thread. May God be with you! Your life seems like a big roller coaster of late. Please hang on tight and we'll keep the good wishes and prayers coming. The Memorare is indeed a beautiful prayer. I find it very comforting, and I'm sure you do, too. Take care!

Sending you lots of healing, positive thoughts.

Thank heavens it's not cancer! You still have my prayers. I hope this is as quick and painless as possible. I'm so happy you're sticking around!! ((((Eileen))))

Threedgrad/Eileen - I hope your appointments go well and that this appendix episode is quickly over with! I just KNOW that one of these days, ONE of these days, there will be a posting from you saying you're feeling great and have started a really good new job that you love, and that things are finally turning around for you. Hang in there! You have an incredible attitude and great inner strength! I'm praying for you!

So glad to hear that the news is appendix, not cancer. I was also thinking that it sounded like it could be gall bladder.

I hope that things get settled soon, and you are truly on the road to better days and good health. You have fought this fight with great courage and faith. You deserve to reap good things for that.
