I have no idea what a hair snop or hair snog is. Could you tell us a bit more about it? Neither nets any results with Google that make sense.

We used to wear snoods, but I never had a pattern.

Think Mellie, in Gone with the Wind....remember, she wore this 'thing' aroundher hair that was gathered at the nape of her neck...it looks like a very large holed mesh bag....(looks like lots of yos)...you fit it around your bun, and secure it, usually at the top....its called a Snood... dictionary says it is "A small netlike cap worn by women to keep the hair in place"
