Take yarn UNDER needle to other side and continue on.
If you are knitting, yarn should be at back of needle and
when you purl, yarn will be in front of your needle.
Seed Stitch and Moss Stitch are the same.

When you are doing one purl stitch then one knit stitch, you have to move the yarn after each stitch into the correct position for whichever stitch comes next (K or P).

When you knit, the yarn has to be on the side of the needles away from your body (the "back"). When you purl, the yarn has to brought between the two needles to the side nearest your body (the "front"). So you are going back and forth after each stitch.

What are you making?

I guess it would be clearer to say that you have to move the yarn to the other position after each stitch.

i am slightly dyslexic (i sometimes turn numbers around...dialing the phone is such a pain!! LOL) so when i do the seed stitch, i never get the pattern right because you k1 p1 etc., on the first row, then p1 k1 on the next row, etc. i get confused and end up with ribbing instead LOL!! i found that if you cast on an odd number of stitches, then when you k1 p1, etc., for EVERY row, the pattern works out correctly and i don't have to think very hard! ;)
