I haven't seen any bigger sizes in metal, but I do recommend wood hooks if you're going to use the bigger sizes frequently. I have the same set as you, I think, and have some problems with them being pointy. Most of my other hooks are wood, and I adore them. You can get wood hooks in almost all the sizes, I think (except maybe the ones that are only steel).

If you find a place that DOES sell metal hooks in larger sizes, let us know! They're cheaper than wood ones.

I think I have an N in metal. I would have bought it at WalMart, Michaels, or Tall Mouse. My P is in a plastic andI do not have that problem with it. Try wiping your plastic hooks with alcohol to get the sticky off.

I also have an aluminum size N made by Boye and a plastic P (no brand) that has given me no trouble. The P is opaque plastic and not one of those new "crystal" hooks. I just bought one of the new ones in size L but haven't worked with it yet. Was in AC Moore - had a 40% coupon and of course, didn't need to add to my yarn stash so I figured I'd buy a larger hook for a future project :-)

I haven't seen the L's or M's but have a N in metal .Michael's and Hobby Lobby have them The P I've only seen in plastic. Some of the metals get sticky too. Try some cornstarch on it. and see if that helps

I agree with Minnie, cornstarch or baby powder might help. I find my hands leave a film on some needles and hooks. A touch of powder, and I am good to go!

My N metal hook is by Boye. Look online to buy one if they cannot be found locally.

Thanks for all your responses. The "stickiness" comes and goes. Guess I have to lay it down when it gets too hot!!
