Hello. I am new to this forum and knitting as well. I am trying to knit a carnation but the directions are not very detailed and I am having some trouble with them. To the extent someone could read this post and answer my questions, I would be grateful.

(1) the directions call for 8 ply yarn. I went to 4 different fabric/craft and hobby stores and couldn't find 8 ply yarn. Does it exist?

(2) the directions require me to knit in eyelet lace. Does anyone know how to knit in eyelet lace?
