Pattern for easy 'one size fits 'almost' all' no heel socks?

Hi I once saw a pattern for a sock that did not require the heel to be turned etc. no really "special" skills better for a beginner.... easier and the socks were easy to make "one size fits .... ? all..... :) ......... Does anyone have that pattern or know what it was called? They make fairly thick warm winter socks.....
