I covered small hair clips, the spring-loaded kind!

THey are so easy! These are the clips you squeeze to open them, and have teeth that clamp onto any place you put them. They come in different styles and sizes. I got the small ones and covered the part that gets squeezed with a daisy-looking crocheted flower. G-hook, worsted yarn. Chain 4, slip stitch to form ring. Sc 8 times into center of ring. Sc around, increasing now and then to form a flat circle. Stop when big enough to cover squeeze handles, about 2 rounds.Cut the yarn, leaving a tail that will be sewn using a tapestry needle to form a drawstring to fit snugly around base of handles. Pull snugly, not too tight. Test to be sure the clip still opens. Tie off, weave in. Insert hook into any loop around the edge to begin the flower petals. Ch8, sl st into beginning st. Repeat as many times as looks good to you, perhaps 8 to 12 petals. Tie off, weave in.
