I am crocheting a baby blanket made up of 5" squares in 3 different colors. The solid color is just single crochet. The verigated color is double crochet and single crochet. After completing the verigated block it measures slightly larger than the solid colors. Same brand yarn. Same weight.Oh the dreaded guage.

Will this distort the finished blanket? I can slightly stretch the blocks to fit but am concerned about the outcome.

This is a project for new crocheters. I can see where anyone might become discouraged.
