It this is the dining room, I'd suggest that the chandy is hung much too high. They will coordinate well, but bring them into your living space (the 8-9 feet where you live in your home.) Otherwise they are just ambient lighting. I think they need to be treated as task (dining) or accent (living) lighting.

Coordinate is fine, just keep the metals the same.

I would avoid putting a chandelier in the adjoining living area. Instead I would use lamps and sconces.

If I had to have chandeliers in both areas, I would use the iron and crystal one in the dining room and find an iron one without crystal for the living area. I believe that an area where the family will gather in their jeans and tee shirts should be fairly casual and comfortable to all. Instead of a chandelier, I would place a fan.

But , I live in Austin, Texas where life is pretty casual. If you live in an area that's more formal, or come from a culture that is more formal, then you would do things quite differently from how I would do them and that is understandable. Because I do not know those details of your life, I am speaking about how I believe most of middle America lives.

I actually love chandeliers and one way to achieve the right look is by contrasting them. You want them to compliment each other and the do not have to match. Rustic with some formal pieces, your crystal chandelier, is very chic! I am attaching some chandeliers that are warmer and less formal but I think they still will compliment the crystal. It looks like you have high ceilings and a large space so make sure you have the right proportions.
