Placemat not laying flat

Well I have only done a few rows of dc with Bernat Softee chunky 100% acrylic yarn. It is like a wave, will it lay flat once it is done? I am using an H hook

I had always planned on taking this one apart...once I get the cotton blend yard I have ordered.
