HP backup: propane vs. electric

Been considering whether or not to replace HP with electric backup to a propane furnace.

I haven't checked the equipment and install prices for comparison, yet, but I presume the furnace would cost more.

As for running it, I assume the cost of propane would be comparible to electricity.

However, I see possible advantages that propane would run warmer, and greatly reduce electric requirements for a backup generator. In other words, it would be possible to get heat during an electric outage.
