It's not necessary to add a strand of another yarn to it if you are knitting, but it makes it much easier to work with if you are crocheting. Check out Lion Brand's site. If you want a really warm scarf, you would want to add another yarn to the eyelash. But alone, the eyelash yarn is pretty for an accessory to an outfit or for a light muffler. Just knit every row--the pattern does not tend to show up because of all the eyelashes. And it looks better if you knit it, more fluffy. When you crochet with the stuff, the lashes tend to get caught and tangled into the stitches.
