I am now on the 17th pair of socks for the grandchildren.

Shouldn't be any cold toes this winter!

Wow Eliza Ann! Those are really neat! You have really been busy. I made 4 pairs of socks this year and that was it. I would like to try some more. What kind of yarn are you using? I hate that skinny stuff - takes too long. Your grandchildren are lucky!

Wow good work. I've never knitted socks, I don't understand how.

I love my hand knitted socks, mom knits them for me. Mom has given me some nice addi turbo circulars and a book called the magic loop which has patterns for socks on circular needles but I cant figure out how to use them as I am really a beginner.

I am tempted to just use the double pointed as I have found an online tutorial.

Elisa! Incredible! Wonderful! Thank you for sharing. What an inspiration you are.

Would you mind telling us what pattern you use and what yarn? Is it worsted? Wool? Circulars or double points?

Eliza, could you please tell us what size needles and what kind of yarn you used to make your socks?

I only began knitting socks a few years ago but found I can make them on circular needles which I use instead of straight needles and just put a seam up the inside of the foot. Easier and faster for me. I have used baby yarn for the socks I've made...and the gloves too. Most people don't show their feet in public anyway and it doesn't show that much.

Here's another pic of my sock knitting marathon!
I've been using up all my left over wool to make these.I don't use a pattern as such, but knit the old fashioned way of adjusting my stitches and wool to the size of sock I need.My grandma taught me how to do this many moons ago. However, there are a kazillion patterns on the web for anyone doing a search. They're not that difficult once you get the hang of it.

Can you briefly explain Grandma's method. Sounds interesting.
