Kenmore Window A/C Poor Cooling

I have a Kenmore Model 580.75101 that is not cooling properly. I can hear the compressor "thump" when I first turn the unit on, but it's not cooling like it used to (I purchased it two years ago). Temp at air outlet is 68F, with an outdoor temp of 90F.

I cleaned the condensor and evaporator fins, and the filter. One thing I did notice is that SOME of the coils behind the grill have heavy ice buildup, while the ones next to them do not have any buildup at all.

The warranty expired, but I still have a warranty on the "sealed refrigeration system".

Any advice appreciated.

sonds like either dirty coils or low freon. did you disassemble it and clean BOTH coils? or did you jsut brush off the dirt? i pull the unit out of the window and clean it with a water hose until water flows freely at all areas of the each coil.

If you've kept it clean, it's probably a freon leak. I've noticed that some window a/c's come charged a little low on freon from the factory for some reason, as I have added freon to some and they never leaked down again.
If the coil was restricted some to cause icing up, the air coming out would be much colder- that's why I think it's the freon.
