System 2000 Gas Conversion

Hi, new member here.
I have an oil-fired system 2000 I wish to convert to gas.
Is this just a case of replacing the burner? Can I use any gas burner rated for my boiler? Or do I need to go through Energy Kinetics. I want to do this as cheap as possible. thanks.

It is possible to convert an oil burner to gas. The issue is the efficiency and whether it can be done to your boiler.

If you are going to do this you need to find an installer who has expertise in doing conversions. If you going to live in this house long term then getting a new boiler would be the best option.

The System 2000 works equally well with oil, NG or LP. If you want to convert to either type of gas have your plumber or heating contractor purchase the Carlin EZ-gas package from Energy Kinetics. It's listed for use as a conversion burner. Why buy a whole new boiler just to switch fuels.

Hello nellsland,

I know this thread is 4 years old but I was wondering how you made out with converting your Energy Kinetics boiler from oil to natural gas? I have the same boiler and am looking to convert it as well. Information about this is pretty scarce on the internet so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
