I inherited a 1300 s.f. one-story ranch-style home from my mother that still uses the original ceiling heat and has no air conditioning. I discovered last winter that not all of the rooms actually heat. Obviously, I need to have another heating/cooling system put in and I know nothing about this subject.

The windows have been replaced in the past 5 years with good double-pane ones.

From reading this forum a little, I know no one can give me a price for putting in an entire system, including ductwork, but can anyone recommend a type of heat-pump system? I live near Boise, ID and we get extremes of temperature 25-110 degrees and there is very low humidity (if that matters).

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
