First thing would be to check and clean your venting.

Where/how does the exhaust ducting run, through your wall or attic or basement, etc. to the outside? Probability is that you have an exhaust clog. An obstruction in the exhaust will cause the heating element to be choked for airflow and overheat, constantly cutting on/off instead of running properly to reach the target drying temperature inside the drum. Not to mention lack of airflow slowing the overall drying process.

Disconnect the vent from the wall, and let the dryer blow inside the house. If it's long enough, run the flexduct out a nearby window (and NOT blowing at a window screen!) or doorway, or at least around the dryer toward the front to minimize recirculating the hot exhaust air back into the dryer. Does it get hotter and dry faster? If so, delve into that exhaust ductwork and clear the clog. Sometimes it's simple as a bird/critter screen at the outdoor exhaust hood being clogged with accumulated lint. Other times there's a wad of lint somewhere inside the duct, for example caught on screws protruding inside if you have solid-flue ductwork connected with screws at the joints. Screws are a no-no on dryer ducting, use duct tape at joints.

When mine wasn't heating, it ended up being the vent was clogged. Had it cleaned and no problem with it working correctly. My vent is on the roof so I have them come out every January to clean it.

Rigid metal Vent is best.

If using flexible metal vent, make sure it's not getting crimped when dryer is pushed into place.
