The laser templating system (Your Fabricator is prolly
using an LT-55 from Laser Products) is one of the preferred
systems that's out there. The LT-55 is accurate to a few
thousands of an inch, so unless your doing work for the
Space Shuttle, your tops will fit just fine.

I use an LT-55 and I have never had a problem AND
I use the same system to teach new Fabricators that come
to our school - AZ School of Rock - in Gilbert, Arizona -
the art of templating - both manually using luan strips, as well as using the LT-55.
(The LT-55 works for us as we have
a regular Fabrication business as well as the school -
so we use what works for us - to teach others)

The LT-55 does not have any real problems that I know of,
so enjoy the process!!!

It was interesting seeing the luan wood approach to templating on your web site. My contractor tried to explain that way of making a template to me this morning and I had a tough time visualizing it.

It's pretty much what most shops that do not have
a digital system are left with...luan, chloroplast,
paper, cardboard - they all work good, but,,,
as a Fabricator - once you've used a digital
(laser/proliner/photographic) system,
it's like going from a way slow prop plane
to a mach 3 jet fighter!!!

The fabricator did the lasering while I was at work today so I didn't actually get to see how it was done. The finished product will tell if they did a good job I guess.

My biggest concern at this point (because it's the only thing I know of to worry about) is the reveal on the sink. I wanted a zero reveal but according to the Blanco site, they only offer a template for a 1/4" (I think) positive reveal. Oh well, as long as it's even all the way around.
