anyone else up watching the eclipse ?

Very cool, but the clouds are getting heavier so having to wait and watch inbetween the breaks in the clouds. Will be 2094 for the next one to happen at the exact same time . Probably won't get to see that one....c

I wish it hadn't completely clouded up about an hour before it was supposed to happen! :( We heard it was the first time it was on the solstice since **1638** (or so, iirc)--waaah! It's a true Oregonian solstice once again. It was gorgeous all last week, and now it's pouring. We'll have to enjoy it in photos.

I was able to get nice glimpses but it clouded up here too so I didn't get anywhere as nice an effect as those on the East Coast. My DB got great views over the Hudson River. Maybe in 2094 , Fly ,we will get a better view :) c

We watched it. It was clear here and the temperature was about 60 which made it very nice. It clouded up about 15 minutes after it reached full eclipse. We had binoculars which made it even better, it was very cool!

My daughter and I went outside around 3:20 am to see the moon glowing orange. It was cool.

Me too! We stayed up past 2:30 am to see the full eclipse effect -- and then headed to bed!

    Way way cooooooool!!!!! :)

We've had clouds and rain since last Friday and that will continue into next week. But miraculously the sky cleared around 9:30 last night. There was a ring of low clouds but directly overhead only twinkling stars and the moon. So we watched the whole eclipse, how wonderful to watch the moon turn red. I wonder what ancient people must have thought about such a thing - it must have been pretty frightening!

Anyway, we had binoculars and so saw "billions and billions" of stars as well. A great display!

Ugggghh, the more you guys tell me how awesome it was the more I can't believe I missed it! :( The pics online aren't the same.

Yeah, I bet people back in the day were a bit creeped out when the moon changed like that!

That really big annoying atrium window in my bedroom has finally paid off.

The moon had been waking me up the couple of nights before the eclipse at 3 am--I mean a light so bright I could read by it. Aha! 3 am? In that window? Yep, I didn't even have to move a muscle to see the eclipse.

As I said, that big window that prevents me from sleeping past dawn? It has finally done something right.

Ah, happy, so that's an entirely different part of the country.

Here's a link to some pics, just for folks who haven't seen them yet:

Here is a link that might be useful: lots of others, just one link
