A/C quote

We are experiencing water leak from our inside A/C unit and was told the coil is bad. The quote is $3,457 to replace the coil or $5,638 to replace the entire A/C. The coil quoted is Bryant CNPVP4821ATA and the outside unit is Bryant 123ANA048000 SEER 13. Were told need to change the gas furnace if we want to take advantage of the $1,500 tax credit and advised against the 16-21 SEER 2 stage system due to need for additional maintenance. This system is for the basement and ground level (approx 2,500 sqft footprint/floor). The same company installed the same system for our upper level last May. Were told the same system is ok since the basement is underground.

Is the price good? Should we go with a better system, higher SEER? Is what they said about the tax credit true?

Is $9,150 (before $1k rebate and $1.5k tax credit) for Carrier 58CVA090-16 2 stage furnace, Carrier 24ANA148A003 2 stage 21SEER A/C, Carrier C60 coil and Carrier Infinity Control a better buy?
