You can have zoning with any brand. Carrier's Infinity system is the ultimate.

I did a general seach on this site for "zoning" and most of the responses were not very favorable for zoning in a residential application, especially old construction, although I would be replacing my duct work too.

to retro your existing system, or starting from scratch?

We use multi zoning all the time with good results

Honeywell has an excellent system or arzel you will need a pro to do it though there is alot to consider

the reason people talk bad about zoning is because they dont know how to work on them. zoning is ideal for 90% of houses and i rcommend it strongly. think about it yo are not in all parts of a house at all times during the day. at night you are in the bedroom during the day you are in the kitchen. kids dont like there rooms as cold as you want the master bedroom. i had a baby 6 months ago and i asked the doctor what tempature is good for the baby and she said 76 and i like to sleep in a cold house with zoning it was no problem i set the babies room at 76 the master at 68 and it works perfect. at night when im sleeping i can turn the living room up and not have to cool the whole house at all times. that saves money on utilities. i would go with the evolution or infinity zoning system. it is the cadilac

krantzcool--one dealer told me the thermostat for the evolution system takes about a year to learn because it is not user-friendly. Do you find this to be the case? We are considering getting an evolution.

Can you use a different thermostat with the Evolution?

the evolutin thermostat is very user friendly. you can name each zone anything you want to name it. it has a big digital reading that you can see very easy. i just installed the evolution zone system on an older ladies house that was used to the old style analog thermostats and she loves it. if you go to www.bryant.com it has a demo that you can use and see how it works. the evolution is more expensive but you can set the airflow that you want to each zone. it is very nice and dependable
