Joanna, I don't have one but your idea sounds lovely . . . especially in black walnut with the wrought iron base. I had something similar back in my singles day and loved it. My only hesitation would be if you ever need to seat more than four people there. A round top has the possibility to squeeze in another one or two in a pinch. Lynn

I like black walnut wood very much and it would go great with the wrought iron. But when I thought of it in front of a bay window, I thought of a round one. Then you can both sit where you look out the window if you like (and you do have a magnificent yard) and if you have more company they can scootch around and fit. Round seems more welcoming to me in that situation.

I have a 60" square DR table. I used to love my table but now I find I dont love it but I dont hate it. functionally its ok as it seats 8 people but you couldn't really 'squish' anymore around the table due to the sharp corners. Also, because of the size of the table I am having a hard time finding an affordable area rug, I would need a 9x9 which to me would take up too much floor. I cant even find a table cloth for it. You wouldn't have either of those problems though based on your size.

Unlike you I have never had a round table and I really want one!
