Tofu Xpress?

Saw this cool gadget in a magazine.

Looks like a great way to press tofu and squeeze out the water instead of wasting paper towels and putting a heavy pan on it.

It got great reviews too, but >$40 for a tofu press?

Seems like a foolish thing for me to do. I mean, cute little kitchen gadgets are fun with they are

Must not be a lot of tofu eaters. ;) I use cheesecloth and a bath towel and a LeCreuset pot. Everything's washable and no real waste.

I don't eat enough tofu to justify the toy. i just press out similar to GD but do use a layer of paper towels.

We use cloth or paper towels and pans or plates, too. It's not elegant, but it works. I don't like to accumulate single-purpose gadgets, even when they aren't that expensive!

I have one. I love it. I went plant based in November 2011 so I started eating tofu for the first time. While it is expensive, it's alot more convenient and less messy. I like that I can press it in the fridge while at work without coming home to a mess. The savings on paper towels alone made it worth it to me.
